3. **The Oxford Experience**
To all UAB and Divisional Colleagues,
The Public Affairs Department here at the University are currently working on a print publication to showcase the benefits that students here in Oxford can expect. It will be called “The Oxford Experience” and will cover both undergraduate and graduate students. I wondered if you might have a few interested students who may be willing to answer a few interview questions (please see below) that might be used in this publication? If you are able to help then please could you send your responses to me by Monday 1 March.
With many thanks,
Questions
Q: Please briefly describe your background, including the school or college you attended, and any family history of higher education. Please also indicate your under/graduate degree subjects, years of matriculation, and colleges attended.
Q: Briefly describe your experience of the undergraduate and/or graduate application process, focusing on what you see as its benefits.
Q: Why did you choose your degree(s)?
Q: What opportunities have you had to pursue particular interests within your degree(s)?
Q: How do you feel you have developed over the course of your degree(s) – eg learning to plan your time and work independently?
Q: Bearing in mind the many benefits of studying at Oxford, including tutorials, living in college, etc, please select one or two that you think are particularly important and outline why you think this.
Q: Do you have a particularly interesting anecdote to tell about one of these aspects of life at Oxford? Perhaps you have had tutorials with a world-leading academic or studying in an interdisciplinary environment opened up new academic interests for you.
Q: Is there anything else you would like to add?
For this project we are particularly interested in UK students, with apologies for the tight deadline.
In addition, the Graduate Admissions and Funding office still has a few spaces left in our consultation discussion group for the 12/13 Prospectus that is aimed specifically for the student opinion, so if you have any students who may be interested in contributing to this, please do either get in touch, or pass on the details to them. This will be a lunchtime session, with refreshments provided. We would be interested in all levels of graduate students from all backgrounds. We are aiming for a session before 8th week, and some potential dates have been set up using meeting room software, and the relevant link is below:

4. **4th Year Case Studies wanted for the Gazette**
We are still looking for short (200w) case studies to print in the next issue of the Oxford Medical School Gazette. Since many of the you have already had to do case presentations as part of the medical (or surgical/DGH/SSM) attachments this would be a great opportunity to have something printed that would be quick and easy to write up!
We are looking for informal, punchy and interesting write-ups.
Email lucy.farrimond@medschool.ox.ac.uk with any questions, or to submit a draft.
Ideally we would like drafts by next Monday.

5. **Review books for The Gazette**
The Oxford Medical School Gazette has a number of books that need reviewing for the new edition of the gazette. The list of books are attached to this email. If you wish to review a book please send an email to me (naieya.madhvani@medschool.ox.ac.uk) as soon as possible, please include a few sentences on why you would like or be well suited to reviewing the book. Reviewers will be picked on the merits of their reason for wanting to review a book. Any person who reviews a book, according to the deadlines set, will subsequently be allowed to keep the book.
If you have any further questions regarding book reviews for the gazette please feel free to contact me or any of the editorial team. Thanks.
