1. **OSLER COMMITTEE ELECTIONS**

Dear everyone,

Husts for the new Osler Committee President, Vice President, and Treasurer will be taking place on Friday 16th April (next Friday) at 1.30pm in Lecture Theatre 2. Each person will hust for 5 mins, and then there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions. It would be great to see as many medics there are possible to support all of those who are husting, as ultimately you will have to vote for who you think will be best!

Looking forward to it,

Sophie

4. **ELECTIVE PERIODS IN SRI LANKA**

I have written to you in the past about the scheme I have set up for
medical students from developed countries like yours to learn about
medicine in a developing country.

I am retired Consultant Paediatician who has been in practice in the
UK over the past 34 years.

I am of Sri Lankan origin and I am now resident in Sri Lanka. I like
to keep in touch with medical practice in my retirement.

I have set up a service for medical students to do their elective
periods in Sri lanka under very experienced consultants and would be
grateful if you let the students know about this service.

The website http://www.medicalelectives2srilanka.com is very
comprehensive and we would appreciate it if you would kindly take some
time to look through it.

Medical students who have done their “Electives” in Sri Lanka have
nothing but praise for the teaching and the wealth of clinical material
in the hospitals here.

I look forward to hearing from you and your medical students.

Yours Sincerely

Dr Asoka Thenabadu
