3. **Students needed to translate scientific papers**
I am looking to try and find medical students who speak a language other
than English. Specifically I am looking for speakers of
Italian
Russian
German
Portuguese
Swiss
French
to translate a number of scientific papers (all concerning aspects of blood
transfusion) into English. The papers vary in length and potentially
complexity.
We will pay the translators a nominal amount for their help. We would be
looking to get the translations done by early September 2010.
Please could you ask anyone interested to please contact me, Susan Brunskill
on susan.brunskill@nhsbt.nhs.uk
01865 387706, indicating the language that they will be able to translate
from.
Many thanks
Susan Brunskill

4. **HCSS Transplant Rota**
We’re finally under way! This week marked the first successful week of the rota and we’ve ironed out a few glitches so things should run ultra smoothly from here on! If you’re interested in being involved at any stage and would like to receive updates, please join our Facebook group. I’ll be giving weekly updates about when the signups open and when we are on call!

5. **National Medical Student Research Conference**
We would be very grateful if you could publicise the conference to all your medical students, either by email or on your intranet/blackboard (or both!). It is open to all the years, but particularly useful for 5th Years approaching their Foundation applications. Obviously though a national presentation is a good thing for a student*s CV at any point in their medical school career
and a good chance to present their hard work to their peers.
The conference programme is still being put together and we are waiting for final confirmation from our sponsors, however the website has a copy of last year*s programme to give you some idea of how the day ran www.themedicalacornfoundation.org. If you have any questions, do please email me or give me a call on
07973-327430.
Yours sincerely,
Joanna Morrison
FY1 Doctor (from August)
