Osler Badminton Club
joanna.pennack
matthew.gillam

Osler Badminton Club is a very relaxed club which accepts people of all abilities- whether beginner or advanced. The club has practice sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6.30pm in Tingewick hall, and all are welcome. If you don’t have a racquet, there are some available for anyone to use, and shuttles are provided. Although we didn’t enter the Uni league this year, we have in previous years and can easily do so again depending on interest. The annual badminton medic’s varsity is another opportunity for the more competitive of you to shine – the oxford team won last year so we have a reputation to maintain!

Osler Boat Club
Men’s Captains: tom.moore, timothy.parker
Women’s Captains: sarah.morrow, sarah.linthwaite

Now that we’re clinical medics, doing rowing doesn’t mean early mornings anymore! What it does mean is relaxed weekend outings and a great opportunity to get a bit of fresh air, some exercise, and meet lots of people from the Medical School. Whether you’re a novice who fancies trying something new, or you have experience of rowing, Osler House Boat Club can cater for you – we have online sign-up sheets so you only do the outings you want to, and it’s only after Christmas that we start putting people into set “crews”. If you’re wanting to row at a high level, you can’t get much higher than the Women’s first VIII who currently sit at 5 in Division 1 in Summer Eights, but then again if you’d rather not commit to that, we have boats at all levels for men and for women.

Osler Circuits Club
joanna.cooke
clare.jeffreys

Circuits happens every Wednesday at 6.30pm in Tingewick Hall. We are a friendly, informal club suitable for all fitness levels, whether you are aiming to improve/maintain fitness. We try and combine strength and high intensity training and don’t require any regular commitment. Patience, flexibility as well as upper body strength are definite skills you’ll develop!

Osler-Green Templeton Cricket Club
aswin.chari

Osler-Green Templeton CC (aka the ‘Ectopics’) are a social cricket club that play in the college league, cuppers and the inter-departmental Jack Cox competition as well as a number of friendlies!
Practice: Nets are held on an ad-hoc basis!
Matches: Midweek T20 fixtures usually start around 5pm and we also have the odd
friendly game over the weekend
Standard: Beginners are as welcome as seasoned pros. We usually struggle to get an XI out for games so any extra hands are welcome!
Kit: Standard cricket whites

Osler Football Club
christopher.stovin

Osler Football Club offers a great chance to meet medics several years above you, as well as the opportunity to play against some of the current doctors at the JR. We have informal weekly kickabouts at various locations around Oxford, and compete in the MCR league Division 1, having been promoted last year. We also have an annual varsity match against the Cambridge clinical medics, which is always good fun. We hope to see you this coming year.

Osler Women’s Football Club
maria.macphee

Osler house women’s football club is a relaxed and fun club for any girls who are keen to give football a go. No experience is necessary. We play in both the uni league and a knock-out cup competition. Its normally one match every one to two weeks and most will be on Saturday or Sunday. You’re welcome to play when you can make it, no need to commit to every match. Matches start beginning of Michaelmas term.

Osler-Green House Hockey Club
daniel.leslie
kohilan.gananandan

Osler-Green hockey club is the combined hockey team of Osler house and Green Templeton College. We practice a few times early in the term before playing in Medics varsity against Cambridge. During full term of Michaelmas and Hilary the club participates in the college league playing games every weekend and also plays in cuppers. Like most college teams, the team is mixed and has a full range of standards of player from those who have played a lot before to complete beginners looking to have fun and play some sport. Matches are at one of the astro pitches around the city but generally the University pitch at Iffley road or St Gregory’s school.

Osler Mixed and Women’s Netball Club
louise.ainley
harriet.ball

Osler netball is for anyone who would like to play the odd netball match, whether you are a total beginner or a absolute pro! We don’t have a fixed training session but play in the university college league, so have weekly matches each weekend during the first 2 terms of the year. Sadly there is limited opportunity for boys to get involved, though we do occasionally need to call on one or two in an emergency! If you’re interested in playing then do get in touch with the captains and come along.

Osler Rock Climbing Club
rob.middleton

Welcome to Osler Rock Climbing Club (O.R.C.C.). We welcome absolutely
everybody, from those who’ve never seen a rope before, to those who’ve
been climbing the crags for years. We run a session or two per week at Oxford
Brooke’s climbing wall and occasional outdoor fun and frolics some weekends
(frequently featuring camping, if you are that way inclined). We have all the
necessary climbing equipment available for people to borrow so giving it a go won’t
break the bank…so why not join us and see?!
Don’t belay, join today!

Osler Rugby Club
scott.fernquest

Ever thought about how good it would be to play in a rugby varsity game and get to smash the tabs, and not just regular tabs but the medic tabs who weren’t good enough to get into Oxford, emotionally and physically? Worried about where you will be getting all your rugby playing needs now that you are in a clinical school who doesn’t recognize a man’s need to play rugby an afternoon a week? Never played before and want to give it a go with a bunch of mates? Like the look of a man’s legs in short shorts? Then Osler rugby is the club for you! Not gonna lie, historically we haven’t had regular fixtures…or training…or drinks, but we do have a sweet kit, the opportunity to smash the tabs at varsity, and if the enthusiasm is there an opportunity to play some rugby in a schedule that can fit around med school and not force you to bunk off once a week (I have never done this…not once…honest). We accept everyone from novice to University level, and I guarantee it will be a good laugh!

Osler Tennis Club
Men’s: george.verghese
Women’s and Mixed: clare.jeffreys, anna.tochlin

Osler Tennis is for anyone who enjoys playing tennis, regardless of how good (or bad) you think you are. Things usually kick off in spring time, but we do try to run informal practice sessions throughout the winter too, and during the summer we enter cuppers/the league depending on interest, so anyone who is interested in playing matches for us should definitely get in touch. For the past couple of years we have been lucky enough to have a series of coaching sessions during the summer, some of which are open to everyone and some of which are restricted to team players, so whether you want to play seriously or just come and have hit, please do get in touch.
